injector seal removal
any trick to removing the injector seals? while doing all my other work, i decided its a good time to replace them as they have hardened and aren't forming a perfectly tight seal in the injector support.
I've pushed down on them on my workbench but while they can spin freely around the injector, they wont even budge to slide down.

never mind. wire cutters and needle nose pliers. I simply cut the lips then slit the sides of the seals and split them off the injector.
Fresh new soft ones slid on smooth and clean.

Yep - same thing I figured out a while back. The old ones get baked-on from the heat over time.

If you can track down the ribbed version I'm sure they give a better seal. I recently swapped mine for new ones and they were still not a tight fit, however I know that Renault do a ribbed injector seal which I am lead to beleive is far better.
Anything is better than 34 y/old rubber.
