Thank you all for your kind words. No one is perfect and like everyone we do make mistakes, but at the end of any given interaction it is always our hope that every DMC Midwest customer is satisfied with their car service, parts purchase, tech advice and hospitality.

With all that being said, this is exactly why we are having our Customer Appreciation Open House on June 20th. We look forward to spending time and breaking bread with many of you!

I don't have any experience with other vendors but DMCMW was very helpful in getting my car ready for my move. I was lucky to be living within 30 miles from them when I bought my car. They were more than willing to help me if I encountered any problems during my 800 mile trip, but thankfully I had no mechanical problems.

I'm a future owner, finally decided to commit to purchasing my first but I won't do so until Spring of '17. I am going to attend DCS this summer to check out the community and talk to some vendors to get a better grasp on some of the things I read about here and elsewhere. I have a conference in Chicago in a few weeks and DMC-MW is right on the way. Is there anything for a future owner to see if I stopped in or would I just be wasting everyone's time? I have no idea what the facility looks like, not sure if it's more shop than showroom or vice versa.

    Thanks for any help.

Medium sized shop, with a small show room. Call ahead and they will give you a brief, but excellent tour. Good people.

I've had a lot of work done at DMC-MW; I had my Stage II upgrade done there. I always try to make it a point to stop in, even when I don't need anything done. It was always great catching up with the latest and greatest from Dave & Julee. Now the torch has been passed to Mike & Suzy, and they have remained phenomenal with their customer service.

To answer your question, it is more of a shop. There is small show room, with merchandise, and sometimes there is a car on display. They may even be able to give you some pointers when it comes to making a purchase. Crystal Lake itself is a very nice town. There are some quaint little restaurants nearby that you may want to visit.

Not to mention it's only about 10 minutes away from the (fictional) filming location of Groundhog Day with Bill Murray. Woodstock, Illinois, just up the road from Crystal Lake.

Just in case there are any guys on here that enjoy funny 80s or 90s movies, you could go check it out. The town square is about exactly as you would have seen it in the movie.

I bought my car from DMC-MW last June. Dave and Julee were still there at that time. They were great to deal with. Mike and Suzy were already there as well, obviously. I predominantly dealt with Mike. He was fantastic.

My initial interactions with MW were a few years before I owned my car. My wife and I got a great tour of the facility from Dave. I don't want to promise Mike will do the same, but check them out. I'd guess if he has time, he will.

When I get a little closer and have a better idea of my schedule maybe I'll reach out and see what they're up to. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Just wanted to follow up and say that I did stop in at DMCMW last week. I dropped in around 3:00pm on Friday just wanting to just see the facility and get a feel for the place. Suzy was super helpful and Mike ended up spending about a half hour showing me the entire shop as well as a few of the interesting cars they had in various stages of restoration. Despite showing up unannounced and with the shop being very busy they made time for me without at all hinting that I was an intrusion. The DeLorean World Tour folks showed up as I was leaving, it was a pretty fulfilling experience.

I'm looking forward to seeing them again at DCS and working with Mike next spring to find a car. It's really comforting to know I have these specialists withing a reasonable tow distance if anything does ever happen to come up during my ownership. Thanks again for being so hospitable!

Extending this thread. DMCMW rocks!!! I called them at the tail end of their shipping day for some badly needed parts after long waits for another D vendor who apparently, even after repeated attempts, can't seem get them into a box to ship. Not only did they take the time to ID the part numbers for all the items needed in my request, they pulled them and got them shipped out the same day in time for my weekend build.

Got to love Stephanie of DMCMW who ran with this and solved it!

    Thanks DMCMW.

    Steve
