Door Struts - Need strongest

OK, so a bit of a different request from most. Since my doors are modified and have some extra weight due to the fiberglass extensions, I actually need the strongest strut possible. The last set I put on had the soft stop feature and they were never ideal for my doors. Unlike most, I have no need for "soft stop" features. The ones I need, many stock Delorean owners may consider too harsh. Anyone have any recommendations on who is selling the strongest struts or what particular brand/model has no soft stop features?

These folks also do StrongArm and MightyMax gas springs and could quote higher than standard loading

Thanks Dermot. That's interesting. I hadn't thought about upping the pressure a bit. To be honest, the set I had on previously didn't have the damping and actually worked pretty well. Not sure I still have the old ones though to try to determine what brand/model they were.

Rob Grady has a "winter" strut he's coming out with. They are supposed to be stronger. This is not what he designed them for however.

Thanks for the plug Chris. Since the owner has added weight to the door my new "Northern Winter" piston, while not designed specifically for this particular purpose, would probably handle the extra weight extremely well.

Just tossing this out there; half as a known suggestion/half as a question.

What about torquing the Torsion Bars 1 extra click?

The reason that I bring this up, is because back when Don Steger used to install the VPA Door Launcher kits with the heavy solenoids to pull the Bell Crank, this was precisely what he did to offset the additional weight.

I have about a dozen new prototypes left which turned out to be about perfect on the first attempt. If you'd prefer to wait for the production batch I'll be contacting my manufacturer next week to order both those and another batch of stock pistons. Normally the eta is a few weeks but it depends on their production schedule. The ones I have now will be the same spec as production units so you could have them right away if you wish. Just shoot me a PM when you're ready.
