O.K. Here is the induction gasket install.

I cleaned and re-oriented the internal duct which fell out of place...

I also cleaned the old glue off the flange, and installed it.

I installed the same Ace part number 40198 ($2) beveled side up, using contact cement....

Here is a view from the inside with the panel in place...

    Gasket problem solved! Thanks all!!

Pontoon O-ring seal NLA - alternatives?

I've never dealt with that piece before. How does the inlet duct interface with the lower duct and gasket? It's hard to see in the last photo. Does it just sit on top of it or in it?

    Hi Dennis,
Here's a view from the inlet. The bevel is visible. I tried it both ways and it fit better with the bevel up because of the angle of the inlet grill. I might mark and trim the inside diameter as there seems to be extra. I need to take the panel off one more time anyway.

Just an update to this thread. I had to change the gasket on the pontoon air intake vents to a thinner version as the thicker one interfered with proper quarter panel to rear fascia alignment. I also oriented the new gasket with the beveled side down this time. Trial and error...

    Gasket from Home Depot..

I am happy with this one.

Here is the rear fascia all installed ( except the lights etc.)...

I'm looking to do this also. Do you have a part number for that gasket?
Has anyone else done anything similar with something different better?

    Hi there,

It is an Everbuilt, model # 89170 SKU 1000055036

Depending on your panel fit I would suggest some black RTV on either side of the gasket to secure it in place.

I'm trying to push Rob to improve on a product I have used that he will hopefully be offering at some point that gives it a super finished look.
It is basically a gasket somewhat similar to the previous post, but I believe he has some improvement ideas - which he is a master at doing.
    I am attaching a picture.

Kinda curious how you install the ring. It's one of a few things I've never tackled on my car.

The best substitute I have been able to come up with is a roll of 3/4 square weatherstripping at Lowes. I hide the seam around the back so you can't see it. It is about the right color and you can put it in without having to take everything apart. The other possibility is to take the old seal out, cut it open, clean out the old foam and put new foam in, gluing it shut. Now how do you takeout and put the seal back without taking the car apart?
