Cool. Hopefully you're documenting it all...cause it would be nice if it could be put together as a kind of kit.
1280x390 is a kind of odd resolution, though..hehe.
Have you done any designs using that resolution to see how good they look?

Yea I have scaled them down a bit an they look fine, because it all vector based it should still be as sharp and crisp. Because of the smaller horizontal area, I will have to squish some things to fit.
I am hoping the LCD gets here before the end of the year so I can work on it while I have extra time off. I don't think it has left China so I don't know.

Big Update, got my screen from china on Sat. and over the weekend tested and made a mounting bracket concept.
I make a bracket prototype today, but I still have some adjustments to do. I also need to go back to the hardware store and get different size bolts to mount control boards.

A cut piece of Lexan Plastic ( I removed this because of dust issues. I may use it later.

Next step is to make a custom bezel to fit the front and join the edge of the screen to the rim of the binnacle. I think I am going to move the screen down about 1/4 of a inch, but may wait until I can verify the view from the seat.
Now that I have the screen, I can go back to programming. I have to do some rewriting because of the resolution change.

Wow. Nice progress. What do you plan to do about the screen overlap at the bottom of the binnacle?

That's just the bottom of the plastic bracket I made, it'll be trimmed smaller in my next version of the bracket.
I moved the screen down so the bottom of the veiwable area meets the bottom of the binnacle. It looks much better and doesn't waste space you wont be able to see at the top.

The only thing left is to make a better bracket and a bezel insert.
