You can just bust out the honeycomb with a steel rod. But probably better to have the smooth flow of a replacement (off road) pipe.

    Minimal. Slightly louder.

Won't care, the O2 sensor is before the cat.

The real question is can your cat be removed for examination without all the studs breaking?!

I gutted my CAT long ago and can't remember if a stud broke or not. If it did I repaired it myself. I do have a MIG welder. There were peices of a previous CAT rattling around in the muffler. Those just fell out when I shook the muffler end up.

I ran a test pipe for awhile. Did a tune up, installed the pipe, and dynoed about 112-115 WHP after getting the fuel spot-on.

Minor improvement, hardly noticeable, not worth the effort unless your Cat is plugged up.

It does add a little extra note to the exhaust which is nice but not overwhelming.

I liked being able to ditch an extremely hot component from a location that is relatively close to fuel lines. Also my asbestos cat shield was not in the greatest shape so I was able to remove that and all of the supporting hardware.

So for me it wasn't just a few extra WHP but reducing heat and complexity from the driver's side of the engine.

Here is how to achieve what you are looking for without an entire system or compromise. High flow converter package directly fits into OEM exhaust system. Includes everything for install. Gives performance which is widely stated in various forms on here but is on average 5-9 hp and 17-25 ftlbs of torque and a broader power range/free rev engine.
