Yep...previous owner had started to restore it, after he bought it from a guy who had painted it and then been t-boned.

The body has been stripped and Ken took it up to Delaware OH for some fiberglass repairs. This car was in an accident in the past and needs some patchwork. You can see some of the damage in the pics.

Engine tear down. Ken picked the best donor engine he had, (not the original to the car) This particular engine was used for a Delorean Car Show rebuild demo about 10+ years ago. Because of this, the engine had been prevously cleaned and rebuildt. After the show, the engine sat for the next 10 or so years. We took out once piston to make sure the rings were not seized , and put it back in. According to Ken, this engine only has 16,000 miles on it. The heads were sent out to be cleaned and repaired.

The Frame. This is almost complete minus the engine.

The heads back from serviceing. Ended up needing to be rebuilt and plained. They look brand new now. New injector tubes too.

Very cool project, and great work so far!
It's great to see any DeLorean being restored, especially an early VIN one.

Typical Josh car; not the first one that Bauerle automotive has done fiberglass work on, haha
Speaking of which, it's almost ironic that this car is currently in the frame off state, since Josh's daily driver car is also currently frame-off since he's putting a stainless frame under it! Talk about having a lot of irons in the fire...
Anyway keep it up! It'll be awesome to go back to Ken's this year and not see this guy hiding in the corner!

Amazing job done, keep up the good work
Few months behind updating
Part 7
Had to swap bodes, and the windshield broke when they removed it to swap. So a new windshield was installed on the swapped body, which is pretty awesome. I love a clean clear windshield.

Few weeks later (I missed a few weeks due to work) while I was gone, Ken lowered the engine down into the frame. Did some waterproofing around the top of the door area. Painted the door hinges.

Some of the other cars at the shop took priority the past few weeks, but now that they are done it will be full steam ahead on this car. Now that the weather is warming up, I can't wait to take it out for a drive!
