How do you edit your signature?

There's no pencil icon next to the signature when editing "About me". How do you change it? Thanks

I click on Settings on the top right, and then select Edit Signature on the left column under My Settings.

One other titbit about signatures... if you make a post while you have a signature, any signature, that old post will update with whatever you make your new signature to be. If you have no signature, i.e. just blank, then whatever posts you make while it is blank will remain with a "blank" signature (meaning, it won't go back and update your changes as it considers the "no signature post" unupdateable).
