early working craig radio

Mid October they crossed over into the 5000's is my guess. Mine is 5778 and was built in the afternoon on Oct 28th (Wednesday). So at 80 cars a day, about 2 weeks or 10 business days earlier about the morning of October 16th (Friday), would have seen VIN 5000. Mine has the console clock. I have an aftermarket stereo when purchased so I don't know about the original radio

It would be nice to have gotten a picture of 5778 being built like they do for today's Corvettes. A buddy of mine had his 2016 Corvette special ordered and paid $150 for the picture of it on the assembly line.

My vin is 4941..... I have center console clock with no clock in radio. I would think that mine would be among the last 60 or so units to come this way... Build date- Oct 10 1981. Does this seem accurate?

I am going off of the date written on top of my doors (cave drawings too), The part that doesn't make sense is that Oct 10 was a Saturday....

Does anybody have a car with a Craig w/ clock, and also the clock in the console? It seems like the cutoff point for the change is fuzzy, but it does seem like they were pretty good at not giving any cars two clocks or no clocks.

11408 had this setup. Craig with clock and a clock in the console. Both work too!

Which I find confusing.
