personally I like the quiet cars. I removed the annoying door buzzer from my last custom car and will never go back to it

EDIT: Welmoed, I can't find that diagram you posted (lost in the DMCTalk sea), but if you still have it I think it'd be a huge help for reference on this project.
I'm going to look for both in my archives.
Need to find the belonging pictures (texts have already been retrieved).

    Here we go:

I didn't realize until I heard it on my desktop speakers, but the chime is kind of hard to hear. Apologies to everyone that has to listen to me talk at super loud volume to hear the chime. And for the awful camera work.

Anyway, it sounds a MILLION times nicer than the "dying goat being squeezed through a harmonica" sound of the OEM chime. Well worth the effort to install it.

Please do! Just bought a buzzer to do this project!

    +1.
Sweet little mod. Looking forward to you notes on this.

Working on a compiled diagram with everything in it - my notes are a little confusing as I revised them several times while trying to map out each pin. I'll have to crawl in with a flashlight and check my work. Unfortunately I can't just check the factory diagram to match colors as some of them I didn't use and others I hooked up a little differently than you might expect - for instance I think I tapped my 12V off the steering column.

I'll try to post it tonight or tomorrow.

I live up to my previous promise to give info on the chimer I used.
As I couldn't find the original pictures I have taken new ones.
Recently I also acquired the factory manuals for the Pontiac Trans Sport.
From that I recreated a new diagram so all connections can be made correctly.

The card edge connector is only a rough model as I have no equipment to make a nice clean printed circuit board.
    However it works.

One issue remains to be done:
I haven't had the time to connect the lights-on signal.
From the DeLorean diagram I conclude it has to be the red/orange wire, but I may be wrong in that assumption.

Here are the pictures and the diagram:

Ugh. Okay, Welmoed beat me to it and his diagram is essentially identical to mine anyway.

I can't actually finish this because in the process of digging out the chime box, a few of the leads came loose and I can't see which ones are which. It'll have to wait until my new battery cables get here and I can ring out each wire again.

I do know my setup is slightly different from his (I think I'm using the headlight pin for one of the other alarms) but his diagram should work for all similar GM modules.

    Thanks for the details!
I love the idea of a board to plug into the exiting connector. Where can you find that type and size contact board? what is the conductor spacing required?

I used a circuit board with nothing (except the copper) on it.
After having measures the pin distances, I ground off the non necessary copper (ref: no way to do it differently as I don't have the tools for that).
Thereafter I drilled the holes for the wires.

    That's all.

If you haven't the wire colours (DeLorean wiring diagram):
    1 - Purple (12V from )
    2 - Purple/Blue (from door switch)
    3 - Black/Purple (from seat belt switch)
4 - Yellow/Purple (from seat belt warning light)
    5 - black (GND)
    6 - White/Red (from IGN lock)
