    Checking in!

Just bought my dream car the other day, right now it's on a truck from California to it's new home in Chicago:

I've wanted a DeLorean since I was two years old and now that dream has come true! It's #5364. '81, grey interior, 5-speed with just about 48,000 miles on the clock. Bought it from Palm Desert Auto in California.

Really looking forward to being a part of the community and investing some time (and money) into the car!

I don't always drive cars, but when I do, I prefer DeLoreans

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"

    Hello!
My name is Pete and I am the excited new owner of 1596!

I've been hunting for a Delorean for the last 4 years and finally found one that was what I was looking for: All original with solid frame and body with mechanical or electrical issues. I've been working on Project cars for awhile now and wanted a Delorean as the next project.

The Delorean is a May 81 gas flap. It has Black/Gray interior, Manual 5 Speed, and 6835 original Miles.

It was originally sold to a fellow in Vermont who collected cars and antique aircraft and the car spent its life in his Hanger.
The original owner passed away and in 2001 was bought by a real estate developer in Maine who drove it for a summer before storing it.

The Second owner didn't do anything with it other then starting it once a year to let it run before returning it to his garage.
This past spring 2017 he noticed an oil leak while starting it and after his mechanic made a house call, was told he should probably get an expert on Deloreans to figure out whats wrong. He opted to just to sell it instead.

I live just 2 hours south in southern Maine and ended up buying it.
The car definitely needs some work mechanically and electronically get back into driving state, but I am looking forward to the challenge.

I love these cars and their history and looking forward to returning it to the road!

The body of the car is in good shape, I was only able to find a single dent in the pass quarter.

The car also came with binders of paper work, copy of the service manual, service bulletins, and original window sticker

The car is now at my brothers shop where I have access to tools and a lift. I'll be digging into the known issues and building a list of immediate issues that will need addressing.
