There is a lot of pressure at the bottom from the shifter plate. Is there an easy way to get the AC plate shifted back down and the switches centered in the holes? I have an automatic if it matters.
Check if the radio bracket has bent at all. If not, loosen the console plate, install the AC fascia, then reinstall the console plate correctly under the fascia.

EDIT: First fix the fascia as Dave mentioned.

Has anybody used the Headlight Switch Bypass Kit from DPNW? Seems like it takes care of the same issues as the upgraded DMCH switch, but for a lot less $$$

The original incandescent bulb gives off warm white (yellowish) color. They use a blue filter so that the illuminated appearance is green. Kindergarten 101: yellow and blue makes Green

Keep in mind this doesn't "take care" of any issues, it just prevents an issue from occurring in the first place.

If that's the case, then I guess it is considered that I failed kindergarten?

Hrm. Mine glows yellowish-white; I guess the filter in mine is missing or completely faded-out. I didn't know it was supposed to be green!

Yes, your missing the blue filter.

What color is your hazard switch, it was also originally green too. Some folks have now switched that to a Red LED. DMCH used to put a Red LED in with the New headlight switch in order to convert it. Give it that modern appearance.

If you remove the A/C panel face plate, you can grip the switch cap and pull it off. The first thing you should see is an opaque blue rectangle. If it's not there you'll just see the incandescent bulb.

I fixed the standoffs as Dave suggested and then installed the AC and console plates in the order you suggested. All is well with that, thanks!

Back to the matching headlight and hazard switches. Since I can't put an incandescent in the new Houston headlight switch, can I put an LED in an original hazard switch? That will probably be the best way to get them to match color and brightness wise. Thanks!

    Hi there,

Yes, you can install an LED in the hazard switch. Here's a thread that may be of interest. http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?98...topped-working

I'm one who converted both to LED bulbs. IMO, they look good... not too bright or out of place. Here's a pic..

I'm running the same setup, blue in the headlight switch and red in the hazard switch.
