Thanks for all the help folks. I've got a temporary 12 gauge jumper wire in there for now to get me to the car show and back on Saturday. I went ahead and ordered bitsyncmaster's new "Solid State Fan Fail" module and it should be here by middle of the week before we head out on our trip.

I should have qualified it and said it is a temporary fix. I also don't like seeing wire nuts in a car but if that's all you can do it will work. The problem is you can't use the proper spade terminals and stick 2 wires into one of them. They aren't made for that. The best way would be to solder the splice together but not everyone can do that. Theoretically there is no reason you can't use a wire nut, it will work. As long as it is in a dry place and is the proper size for the 3 wires.
