Well, we are planning this Worldtour with three Delorean and the cars can be the perfect basement for our modifications.

    More informations: http://www.deloreanworldtour.com

    I´m looking forward...
Cars are built for driving and not just for watching and stand in a museum. No exceptions.
A car in a garage is safe, but this is not what a car is built for.

Your world tour is intriguing! What is your proposed route? I check out your site and didn't seen one. Maybe worthy of a new thread?

    Preferred route:
    Germany - Austria - Liechtenstein - Switzerland - Italy - Tunisia - Libya - Egypt - Jordan - Saudi Arabia - Bahrain - Qatar - Abu Dhabi - Dubai - Iran - Pakistan - India - Nepal - China - Laos - Thailand - Malaysia - Singapore - Australia - Canada - USA - Iceland - Norway - Finland - Sweden - Denmark - England - Scotland - Northern Irland

According to the curren political situation, (no Libya and Syria), the route would look like this:
    Germany - Austria - Liechtenstein - Switzerland - Italy - Greece - Turkey - Iran - Pakistan - India - Nepal - China - Laos - Thailand - Malaysia - Singapore - Australia - Canada - USA - Iceland - Norway - Finland - Sweden - Denmark - England - Scotland - Northern Ireland

If China refuses or there will be snow-chaos in the Himalayas:
    Germany - Austria - Liechtenstein - Switzerland - Italy - Tunisia - Libya - Egypt - Jordan - Saudi Arabia - Bahrain - Qatar - Abu Dhabi - Dubai - Iran - Pakistan - India - Australia - Canada - USA - Iceland - Norway - Finland - Sweden - Denmark - England - Scotland - Northern Ireland

If time is running out to the end:
    Germany - Austria - Liechtenstein - Switzerland - Italy - Tunisia - Libya - Egypt - Jordan - Saudi Arabia - Bahrain - Qatar - Abu Dhabi - Dubai - Iran - Pakistan - India - Nepal - China - Laos - Thailand - Malaysia - Singapore - Australia - Canada - USA - Ireland - Northern Ireland

...or a combination of the different variations. Flexibility is king!

Wolfgang and his team did the "Tour de France" these past few days.
    He visited some French owners.
Yesterday, he went trough the city of "Lyon" which is about 1 hour driving from my home.
So, we were able to meet each other at a friend's house.
Thought I would share a few picture of the day.

    Nice pics Domi.

Is this the start of the world tour, or was this just a practice day-trip?

Three cars and a support G-wagen?

That was their last stop in France before going back to Germany.

    Great Scott!
Around the world in a D eh? Very interesting. It is a very comfortable car for such a task.
Why did they put on a different set of wheels?

Well I wish you guys a safe trip and hassle free. If Syria is blocked I will be VERY happy to meet you in Greece. Sorry I am the only delorean owner here... So no big D parade.
I am German however so communication is no issue.

It will be a pleasure to finally meet you Deloman!

This was just a practice. 5000 km / 3100 miles within 10 days around France. This will be followed in 2014 by a practice with about 6700 km / 4200 miles around Spain and Portugal within 15-20 days. In 2015 a practice with 7000 km / 4400 miles around Scandinavia within 15 to 21 days will follow. The World Tour then will start in 2015 and will end in 2016 at the Eurofest 2016 in Belfast.

It is easier to get a replacement wheel or rim when you are using commonly available parts. And you only have to take one kind of extra wheels with you. Remember that the world tour will go through countries like Pakistan and India.
