    Engine Dies while Driving

So I ran into this a few months ago and very appreciative for everyone's help. My car died on the road and after troubleshooting all electrical, I ended up replacing my fuel pump, primed the lines, and she started right up. I drove around 300 miles and everything was fine. Last night, I went out for a little ride and as I'm pulling back into my neighborhood, the engine shuts off and will not restart. I pushed it back to my garage. This morning, I turn the key and it fires right up. Any ideas?

When you have a trouble that comes and goes like that it is usually an electrical problem. Check the connections to the ballast resistor on the firewall. Next time it happens try to hear if the fuel pump is running.

Also check the fuel pump electrical connection. Depending on which pump solution you went with, the connectors can be a little iffy.

I'm surprised nobody here has suggested RPM relay.

RPM relay is often all or nothing, but you could rule it out in a heart beat with a jumper.

Sorry, I should have said what I already corrected from the last time it happened. Solid state rpm relay. Cleaned all grounds and ran a new ground for inertia switch. Cleaned rear ballast resistor connections. Exact replacement of fuel pump. I will have to do some research on the pickup coil. Thank you

How long were driving for when the car shut down? I remember reading about a guy who claimed his D would die after 5 minutes and 30 seconds and he would coast to a stop and wait for 10 minutes or so and it would restart and drive normally. It turned out to be the pickup coil. He said he did that whole routine for months and it was a fairly simple fix.
