VW ball joints are dangerous. Only way to go is through the DMC-UK guys. They did the research, and know what they're doing.

Were these mounted incorrectly like Bill's? I could see that putting stress on them and snapping them if they couldn't move side-to-side.

As Rob noted above he also carries the good ones and I think DPI also uses them as well.

Yes - I concur that at this time, DMCH, DMCH-related shops, are all selling the same "UK" ball joint.

My LCAs haven't been installed yet, but ball joints appear to be in correct orientation.

Would you be able to measure the taper dimension of the joints in your uninstalled control arms?

A lot of this thread is predicated on the H&A arms having VW ball joints, but AFAIK that isn't 100% confirmed at this point.

As a mechanical engineer (who has nothing against ANY vendor) I am concerned about Byrnes reply, I know of the UK clubs research which has been done over a few years, and am shocked that he would not at least take an interest in it. His joints may well be fine but he should at least review the data....

I ended up buying a set of the UK ball joints last week from the U.K. club. The total cost for a PAIR was $97.13 including shipping. Not bad at all.
