    Window motor/regulator repair--how to dissassemble

My passenger side window motor is bad---removed it today---switch/wiring is good to the motor---motor will not move in either direction---no noise--dead--has anyone dissassembled motor/regulator and made repairs? Is this something that can be done---mine looks original---appears door panel had never been off.
    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks (2126)

General practice is to replace the entire assembly. Usually the failure is the plastic elbow or the gears in the gearbox rather than the motor itself.

    I replace both windows for $319.95 for A1 Electric. Toll Free (88 838-0506****** * * Local (310) 328-8500

I'm very pleased with the results and quality. I taped the sharp edges and wore groves, even then, I got cut. You have to 'force" the new motors in because of the limited cleareance. While I was in there, I greased the window guides/tracks as well. Now it runs smoothly.

The A1 units are a fantastic deal.

Have you upgraded your door locks or performed the lock and latch procedure? If not, it's worth considering since everything is apart. I dont know about you but I despise taking the lower door panels off!
