    Cigarette lighter

    Where can I find a diagram showing the wiring for the lighter? I saw a short video on here once but now that I need it the thing ha gone into hiding. I am going to install a new lighter but all the wires are already off of the old one so what hooks to what? Andy B 03513

    Purple is the center power. Black is the metal case and red/orange is the light.

    Lighter Wiring

    'Glad someone brought up the lighter and its wiring;

    I put the new lighter in, and it works great of course, only it works too good! Actually, what I mean is, the little green courtesy light stays on all the time. I have to disconnect my battery to keep it from running down (fortunately I have a battery quick-disconnect).

    Has anyone else experienced the lighter light staying on all the time? Is my wiring Fubar-ed?

    Did you swap the purple and black wires?

    Not sure, don't remember exactly, but probably. I'll have to dig-in to it to see for sure, and I'll swap-em back if that's the case.

    Thank you sir.

    Little bit of an old thread, I know, but I wanted to follow up. Dave M. was right, I had swapped the wires as he suggested.

    Had some time this Christmas break, so I finally addressed this minor problem. I did NOT have to remove the console. I did loosen the shifter plate to help push up things from underneath. Used the opportunity to do some detailing of the console while I was there too. Amazing how dirty/dusty it can get in corners, cracks and crevasses, like between the switches.

    And now that's done. Onward to replacing the spare tire and replacing the side mirrors glass!
