And what about the side stripe, didn't you like it? Or was there any problems with it?
Well the car is still in pieces. I had to start this tread from the beginnig with more info on the restoration to come.
I was driving the car and fixed things along the way as they broke. Like clutch master and slave cylinder, starter, some wire problems. Then the throwout bearing started making noise. So that was when I started the process. Bought some time and money consuming cars meanwhile, so the Delorean was put on hold a few times. Ive learned now and is all inn. Frame and engine is done.
Installed new roofbox and is currently waiting to get the fiberglass body and other parts like louvers, black trim and facias back from paint. Hopefully I get the body tub back in the end of the next week
Always knew I wanted it restored some time in the future.
The plan was to have it ready by 2011 when it was a classic. That didnt happen, so the new deadline is summertime next year. Initially I wanted a later style car with silver wheels and without the stripe. (And black interior and manual transmission) But since they were hard to find I bought what I could get. I have now fallen in love with the early style, so Im keeping it as it was. Exception is lowered front, galvanized frame and UK exhaust. Stripe was worn, so I am getting a new one.
The car was kind of in good shape, but still everything has to be done. Worst part was probably the fuse box, carpet, seat covers, and roof box. Roof box was not completely rotten, but had to be changed.

    More info to come.

One of the last rides before restoration. (Video)

A dark short film made where I live. The title of the film is actually from where I grew up in a small farm town, 20 minutes from where I live now. Varhaug, where I grew up is a part of Jæren which is known for beeing flat, and ideal for farming unlike Sirevåg where I live now in a small fishing village. I did the stunts, hehe, and actually have a small part in the 8mm bit where I am washing the car. English subtitles.

This is where I am at now. Had to remove all the paint from my fascias. Bad paintjob by previous owner. Front was easy, but the rear had several layers of paint and took me some more time. The fiberglass body is ready for paint, and the plan was to get it home before easter, Things got a little hectic at work, so it will have to wait till after easter. I will get a visit from the guy who bought my 944 and his friends in a few weeks, and was hoping to have it home by then. They have a spring cruise every year, and wanted to check out the Delorean. Rich people with many cool cars. The guy bought my 944 for his daughter as her first car. He has a lot of Porsches himself as well as som Ferraris, a Ford GT and a Bumble bee Camaro. (Remember new Camaros are expensive in Norway.) He runs an investment company for an even richer guy who invests his money in cars. He owns Porsches, Ferraris, Jaguar XJ220, Lamborghini Miura, Diablo, Bugatti Veyron, EB110 etc. He rents the second floor of our local Porsche dealer and stores some of his cars there. I delivered my 944 there, and got to sit in the Jaguar, a dreamcar of mine. Im tall, and this car was cramped. Check out photos.
