I feel like I've seen this D up for auction before and I don't know if this is some kind of scam or what. I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this car.

Hemmings isn't exactly in the business of scamming people.

Hemmings doesn't verify ads and I believe have a disclaimer that they are not responsible for what advertisers say in their ads. Such as numbers matching engines, you couldn't sue Hemmings should you find out it's not what the ad says it was. I would say there is a reason for a painted Delorean and likely it is to hide something. Why would you paint over the very reason most people want to buy a Delorean?
