    My VIN:    10686

    main bearing caps

    during me engine teardown I noticed that the main bearings have numbers 18,18,19,21. do those have to go in any particular order, I have not removed them yet.

    Good practice dictates that you replace each cap in the same position it was removed from and in the same direction. Mark them in some manner either with paint that won't come off when you clean them or put punch marks on them and the block.
