Here is an example of the parts costs. Last year I did an intake refresh on my 928...similar to what is known around here as the valley of death. I decided to change the plastic chain guides because they were brittle and caused a blown engine in my friends car earlier. (They get old, brittle and fall apart). Four tiny 3inch long plastic guides cost me almost $400!!
The engine also has one of the longest timing belts ever on a production car with a crappy hydraulic tensioner that has to be retensioned once after being installed (after 500miles I think). Belt snaps or jumps...you are screwed! Previous mechanic tightened it too much in order to make the warning light disappear...cam gear wear. I had to replace both mine. ($500x2)
Do what you want, but there have got to be better and cheaper ways to get 300hp into a delorean. If you do decide to do it, make sure you create a build thread!!!

Damn sure is a pretty engine.

There is an owner currently swapping in a 2.2L ecotec. Will be the first 4cyl swap, very exciting.
The coyote is a very big engine. Like you said it would be hard to make it fit width wise. However still a better idea than the 928 heart. But be different, make it happen. haha

I wouldnt go as far as saying any sort of swap is "easy". It takes a lot of work. Due to the drivetrain configuration its a little more involved than pulling one engine out and bolting another in like so many domestic vehicles.

Absolutely. Swaps look fun and simple on tv so they must be in real life right???

What I've learned from the maker movement is that you just put the parts into place and hot melt glue will do the rest.

Porsche M28 4.7L 928 engine in my car. With the cam boxes it would be very tight plus the crank pulley would need to be shortened down to one serpentine belt to save space. Did this about 7 years ago.

As a Professional fabricator that has done engine swaps and have built/worked on 928 race cars, I will state YES this is a doable swap. It wont be easy or cheap obviously and it will need few updates to make it all livable. I have a price in mind if you's like me to do it........
