SLC Tech Session this Friday (June 2)

Anybody else in UT going to this?

It's at 5pm at Bailey's Automotive in Murray. If anybody's lurking and wants to join our tiny UT DeLorean club, drop me a line and I'll forward your info to our pres. Or you can probably get in touch through the facebook page. Hope I'll see some of you there!

We had a few cars show up to this, a couple of other owners and would-be owners. The shop owner (I think his name was Craig) is an aspiring DeLorean specialist so he got some practice with our cars.

We took another look at mine to double-check if there was any damage after my curb-jumping incident last week. Craig some damage to my lower ball joint boot and recommended I get it replaced before any more long trips. Glad I got a second opinion!

Our club president needed his angle drive changed so we put his car up on the lift and Craig changed it out. I got a couple pictures.

Inserting the new flex shaft: IMG_20170602_180009.jpg

He had some trouble getting the new one in there but eventually must have gotten it. I missed the thrilling conclusion because by then the pres wanted to demonstrate washing the car, and I volunteered mine since I'd gotten stuck in the rain at work last night.

This might be the cleanest it's been in months! IMG_20170602_194208.jpg

It was fun, we chatted a lot with one of the wanna-be owners and I don't think I scared him off. One of the shop guys said his brother is hoping to get one, too. Hopefully we'll have some new club members soon!

Sounds like a fun time. I actually replaced my angle drive a while also.

We're hoping to work with this shop more in the future. The owner seems pretty enthusiastic about becoming a DeLorean tech. Which will be nice since the next closest specialists are in SoCal/Seattle/Denver. Our club president really wants to make us a real club where we pay dues so we can have more events and things. Hope we get more D owners out to join in the fun!

There's about 6 or 7 in our club, one or two strays that we know of, and according to the VIN list, supposedly 40+ in UT. If we could get them all to join up we'd be doing pretty good...
