    New lawn tractor

My twenty year old YARDMAN tractor bit the dust. One of the cutters broke off the deck which had rust holes so I knew it would happen soon. I bought a new CUB 46" tractor which has fuel injection, LED headlights and blue tooth to tell you when you need and oil change or other service. The cup (beer) holder and tray (I guess for your phone) is another nice addition.

Boy have things changed this much? All I want to do is cut the grass.

Pretty soon they will sell Roomba-like devices so you can sit on your porch and watch it cut the grass by itself. Or you don't even have to watch it unless you care to on your cell phone!

There was a project in an (Australian) electronics magazine back in the 90s to convert a lawnmower into a robot - it spread across many issues and relied on some sort of string line system to mark out the perimeter.

what, like this one at Home Depot from Robomow for $2500,

or this Husqvarna one for $2g,

or a cheapo $700 from Robomow

A store near me was a distributor and used to have one out front and you could see it cutting the grass all day, just like a Roomba. The key was to cut it every couple of days so the grass wouldn't get too long.

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"

    Other robots

I saw one of these Husqvarnas working about a week ago. It looked like it did a good job but needed to run pretty much every other day and only can take off a quarter inch at a time. Pretty much a big weed wacker that drives around, kills sleeping cats, and will grow arms to crush your skull with a rock while you sleep after the robot revolution.

you can get this one on amazon too: https://www.worx.com/landroid-roboti...wer-wg794.html

What happened to just knowing when to check the oil and other stuff based on hours or miles? I'm all for tech, but that seems kinda lame.
