Front Suspension Mounting points measurements needed.

    Hi all,

If anyone has a frame currently removed from a car, I would really appreciate if you could do me a big favor!

I need to get a few measurements of the front control arm (both upper and lower) mounting points, as follows:

Measurement 1: Distance between the centerpoint of the upper control arm bolt, and the lower control arm bolt, as illustrated below:

    1.jpg

Measurements 2 and 3: Distance between the centerpoint of the upper control arm bolts from one side to the other (A) and distance between the centerpoint of the lower control arm bolts from one side to the other (B) as illustrated below. Lowers will unfortunately be a little bit awkward measurement to take - would have to either go above or drop below the fuel tank area to do so.

Measurement 4: I need the angle (A) between the upper and lower control arm mounting points on the frame, so basically need to drop a level from the upper arm mounting point to where a horizontal level line through the lower arm mounting point intersects it, measure the length of the vertical drop from the upper mounting point to this line, and with the measurement from measurement 1 above, I can then work out the angle, as illustrated:

Thanks very much if you can help out!

    Regards,
    John

If you have cad you can use my model
It is far from perfect, but the dimensions you require should be fairly close +/- 1/4"
The control arms are much more detailed, +/- 1/16

    Hi Josh,

Thanks, that model is very cool! I don't have CAD, but I can look around for a free viewer version maybe.

    Thanks,
    John
