    Weird car show question

I wanted to know if you had to pick a class for a car show, what class would you pick from the following .. muscle, import or classic? I know muscle is out but can't decide on the others?
Vin# 4870 - Rebuilt PRV motor - custom seats - fuzzy dash and stock everything else

Given the choices, I'd select Classic. "Import" just doesn't fit as well to me.

That's what I thought. I guess ever so technically it is a import but classic fits, much broader class but..

I agree, go with Classic. Personally I hesitate to call it an Import although obviously they were imported here from overseas. DMC was an American company founded by an American to build a car for the American market. Which in my eyes doesn't make it an Import.

Depends on the competition in each class and whether you want to win a trophy.

If the import judges are looking for the best stanced civic you don't stand a chance.

Similarly for classic if the judges always look for 57 Chevys.

I don't always drive cars, but when I do, I prefer DeLoreans

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"

According to the fine folks at Carlisle events, I was an "import" and was told to park with "the other French cars". I thought it was odd, and perhaps a tip of the hat to the P and the R in PRV. I later realized the lady did it based on the name, and had the car been spelled DiLorean, she'd have said to park with "the other Italian cars."

    Yeah, go with classic.

I almost always do the import category given the option. There's typically less competition. Also, as was mentioned, classic generally denotes a '57 Chevy or '66 Mustang or Vette, Etc.
Also look for categories by year... 80s and newer, etc.

I recommend "Early 80's Irish sports cars with underpowered engines and stainless bodywork" and if a show doesn't have that category by name, it's not worth showing in.
