    One of my favorites:
This kid ran out to high five Doug's passenger. And that Elvis in the background was pretty stoked seeing the DeLoreans when he turned around.

Are we doing this again this August or with DCS 2018, minimal participation.

For me DCS is smack dab in the middle of the Gratiot and Woodward Cruises.....A month before or after would have been Stellar.

As we all know, there is no perfect date for a car convention (or car show)
on any date (especially in the Summer) where there would be no conflicts
for everyone who wants to attend. DCS was on Father's Day weekend for
almost two decades and many folks could not attend due to that conflict.

For reference, the date for DCS 2018 was selected for a variety of reasons,
including details given to us from Dr. Giancarlo Perini at DCS 2016, about
the possible availability of Giorgetto Giugiaro for DCS 2018. Giancarlo
mentioned August was the best month for a possible Giugiaro appearance,
but he also recommended not scheduling it too close to his 80th birthday,
on August 7, and not the same weekend as Pebble Beach (Aug. 25-26).

While Giugiaro has confirmed his appearance at Pebble Beach Concours,
and he is planning an extended trip to the U.S., he has not confirmed he
will be able to attend DCS 2018, even for 1 day, but there's still a chance.
Since Giugiaro has not confirmed, DCS 2018 has not been "advertising it".

With DCS making a commitment several years ago, to not use Father's Day
as the event weekend (for at least the next few events) and try not repeat
the same weekend (or month) every two years, there is bound to be some
conflicts, with some people along the way, for a variety of reasons.

Another planning factor that has limited the number of BTTF VIP Guests
available has been at least two fold: first, since the 30th anniversary of
BTTF in 2015, appearance fees have skyrocketed for BTTF cast and crew,
with no sign of them being significantly reduced anytime soon, and second,
the increasing number of Comic Con events, nationally and internationally.
Both of these factors have impacted availability for DCS, on any given date.

Sample of August Comic Con Events (1 each weekend), for reference:

Tampa Bay Comic Con (Aug. 3-5)
Boston Comic Con - Fan Expo (Aug. 10-12) has evening with BTTF Cast
Detroit Comic Con (Aug. 17-19) is at Cobo Center [during DCS 2018]
Wizard World Comic Con Chicago (Aug. 23-27) is in Rosemont, IL

Where ever you decide to go during DCS 2018, enjoy the event.

I'm not privy to any plans as of yet but I will be opting for Woodward over D Conv & Show.

Rich thanks for that answer. Seriously. You would think they would reduce their fees seeing as how if they were to appear in our area (Detroit Metro), I probably would do the event for free. I'd even suck up the my Security, fuel and food costs (my folks have to get paid and fed). I currently have an arrangement with Claudia Well's spokesperson if she were to do an event here in Detroit, to ring me up.

IMHO I understand the need for them to be compensated for travel, lodging and food, but above that isn't charging D owners like almost biting that hand that helps you? I mean we advertise them all of the time..... I wouldn't think about charging any BTTF celebrity if they needed my D for an event as how the advertising, exposure would pay for itself with other gigs.
