There are 36 splines. I want to say that the diameter of the shaft is 9/16" but I could be confused with one of the other splined shafts in the steering column assembly, as it's been quite a while. I'd look for verification on that one first. I believe there are several other threads on this forum about steering wheels and adapters. I'm sure all the information you need is there.

Also the DMC vendors all sell adapters.

EDIT: It's 11/16" not 9/16". Quoting myself from here a year and a half ago: http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?13...l=1#post190292

Also based on this post, a Pontiac Fiero adapter will work on a DeLorean steering column. Ebay and different automotive sites are full of fiero adapters.
