Changing out rear vent / induction grill

When I installed my power antenna in my car I used a dremel tool to shave the fins of the "Induction Grill" (P/N 105515) so the mast would clear the vent fins on it's way up and down. I got a little carried away with the dremel and cracked one of the fins on the vent. Looks like a replacement "induction grill" is available from DMC, but I don't see how to change it? Is it bolted/screwed in? Glued in? Does the quarter panel have to be removed from the car to do it?

Unfortunate mistake. The fix is to remove the quarter panel and cut out both the glass and the vent with a urethane cutter. Razor blades won't do it here. Urethane must be used on the reinstallation. If you have a late car with the rubber seal it's worse as you need to try to save it. The rubber seal is NLA. It's a good Labor Day weekend project! Enjoy.

Ughh... thanks, but no thanks. Sounds like a project for either the winter months, or next time my car is at one of the dealer locations. In the mean time, I may just plastidip it to cover up the crack. It's not part that most people notice anyway.

If there are no pieces missing you may be able to make an almost invisible repair with some crazy glue.
