    Rear Deflector Retaining Strip Replacement??

    Well. This is interesting....

I need to take off the deflecting plate to gain access to my soft brake lines in the rear so I can replace them with the fancy SS lines I purchased. The passenger side's three bolts came off semi-easily, the driver side spun and spun for two out of three of them. They're still on there and are not coming off their studs.

I feel I'm going to need to cut them off and replace them with a set of these

Looking at the tub... how the holy moley do I get to the deflecting strip? Are they under the carpet? Are they basically impossible to get to??

How do I install this strip?

Pull the carpet out of the cubbyhole. Remove the battery. Remove the old broken bolts, seal the new strips in place w/ RTV from inside the compartments.

On the passenger side you will have to remove the battery together with the battery plate, you will have to remove the old OEM big head stud and install the retaining strip.
On the driver side you will have to open the locking storage compartment behind the driver seat.
Under the carpet you will find the OEM big head studs. Remove them and install the retaining strip.

Yuuup did mine a month ago. If you can bend the edges up put a vice grip on so it doesn't turn then go at with a wrench. I had to dremel on a couple. Did that on the topside. Was glad I did it.
