FOR SALE 1981 Grey DeLorean 5 speed 38k miles

I am selling my grey interior, manual transmission, 1981 DeLorean. This car won 1st in class at the Pigeon Forge DMC car show. It has flawless stainless steel panels, no rust, and runs very well. Starts immediately, and runs cool even in 90+ degree weather. Always garaged with a cover. Regular maintenance has been performed compulsively. I drive it about once a month to work and also to go out on the town. It has about 38,000 original miles. I have owned this car for 9 years and really love it, but life moves on and it is time to make some changes. There is nothing for the new owner to do but get in and drive it.

Multiple pictures and videos (showing easy start and stable idle) can be found here:

So what I wanted was a European (EU) style tag from Northern Ireland, which might have been abbreviated NI in the left lower corner. But apparently if you live in NI, you just get a Great Britain plate. So, I got an Irish tag (IRL). I like the European license plate surround, providing a longer thinner opening, compared to the US version. I ordered the surround from someplace in Europe; I will need to check my records. It is a nice solid metal piece.

But of course the car is registered in the state of Florida and I have the US license plate surround and my Florida tag as shown in the Flickr pictures. I have been driving it all these years with this foreign tag, keeping the US tag in the car if I ever get pulled over. But have not been pulled over, yet.

For the new owner I can swap back to the US style surround. You can also just hang a US sized plate off the back in various ways for the drive home, and decide later!

I have had multiple PMs from potential buyers, some wanting additional pictures. I have added them to the Flickr site at:

Sold to the man from the UK. Another DeLorean is crossing the pond.

I must say, seller's remorse is a real thing.
