This is why you ask a guy who's done a few auctions to help you with your own. That could've gone for $30k easy if he hadn't knocked the DeLorean itself ("these cars aren't daily drivers" -- where's Rich NYS?) and if he had started bidding lower (starting bid was $28k if memory serves, sold to second bidder for $28.5k).

The engineering itself -- while not bad -- was not perfect. He sold his engineering and dissed the car in the process, while selling the car.

I will also note he said the "unreliable fire hazard" was removed from his car. Fuel hoses are still rubber. Engine bay looks untouched. Food for thought.
