    Help with installing motor

I installed a new motor today, after I noticed signs of block rot in my engine. But, this one looks very different. I am not sure if I ordered the right thing?

I'm not sure but I suspect it will be a bit under powered. May I suggest something more like this:

Nice! That'll fix the block rot!

You know that you have a big engine when it has guard rails around the perimeter!

That looks very nice, what happened to your rear window? (removed, so not to break or part of the small block conversion)

What were your signs from the "block rot" that your former engine VOD was bad, needing a new one?

( when I was in my own VOD changing all the sensors & cooling hoses, my little voice said; "not a good place for moisture to collect, no way to drain" )

Rear window is there. Just the reflection of the flash makes it look like it isn't.

Last time I had my intake manifold off (to install a new water pump), I cleaned out the intake valley as a routine process. While cleaning those deep holes, bits of the aluminum started to chip off and expose pitting.

If not all the way through definitely can be fixed. In some cases if all the way through it's possible to get it fixed.
