What really is a plasma LED? I try to keep up on new technology and have only seen it as a sales gimic name. Anyone have any patent info?

I've tried to find out the same thing. Spent way too much time on Google search looking for some technical info. Really did not find a good explanation. Certainly they are different with lighting surface more like a panel than segments. I read they are very bright but I can't find any specs that list the electrical and light output values. They also seem to have a wide variance in cost between different sellers. They're somewhat new, so it will probably take a while for more information to get posted and the cost to come down.
