Springfield, IL (host city of DCS 2016) will be even hotter this weekend/
Temp will be in upper 90's, with heat index of 111 degrees or more.

Chicago's Father's Day weekend 2018 was also very hot for mid June.

How are people who don't drive getting there from the airport? It's looking increasingly unlikely that I'll get enough time off to bring my car Is everybody going to think I'm a total poser if I show up without it?

I'm not bringing mine - the luggage allowance on Aer Lingus is 20Kg - so you wont be alone

I went to DCS 2016 without a car. Was there for three or four days and only ran into one rude owner that said anything about it.

DCS 2018 is the Official "Author"-ized DeLorean Event for 2018

The Official Author-ized DeLorean Event for 2018

DCS 2018 will have the most DeLorean Authors (and editors)
at one event than there has ever been in the past. Although
we will be highlighting about a half dozen book authors, we will
also have many others who have authored articles in magazines
and newspapers over the years, and even many more others who
have authored countless forum posts and social media content.

So whether you consider yourself a DeLorean author, if you
are a fan of DeLorean authors attending DCS 2018 or if you
just want to get your DeLorean book collection signed, then
you will want to attend DCS 2018 this August near Chicago.

See you at the Mega Center, at the Pheasant Run Resort !!

Registration Deadlines Approaching - unconfirmed VIP Guests announced

    DeLorean Owners, Fans and Enthusiasts,

As we approach the "six week mark" prior to the start of DCS 2018
we want to remind you there are only 2 weeks left to book a discount
hotel room and book your Event Registration (before late fees apply).
There are several surprises planned for the events at DCS 2018.

Unfortunately, a few surprises are not knowing all VIP Guests yet, as we
are still waiting on a few confirmations. Although we expect to hear the
confirmations (Yes or No) in the next few weeks, we thought announcing
"possible" VIP Guests now is better than a delay informing attendees.

As alluded to elsewhere, there is still a chance Giugiaro may make an
appearance on one day of the convention, while on his way to making an
appearance at the Pebble Beach Concours the following weekend. At this
time, the most likely appearance will be on a weekday, not the weekend.

Another possible appearance is from Tom Wilson. He was invited to both
make a DCS appearance and perform at the Resort's Zanies Comedy Club.
Tom is appearing at the Boston Comic Con the weekend before DCS 2018
and his most likely appearance would be on a weekday, not the weekend.

On a similar note, Christopher Lloyd may also make a return appearance
at DCS 2018. Chris has a very busy schedule, but we should know soon.
Chris is appearing at the Boston Comic Con the weekend before DCS 2018
and his most likely appearance would be on Thursday, not the weekend.

Of all the unconfirmed VIPs, Lea Thompson is most likely to appear at
DCS 2018, since her husband will be filming in Chicago in mid August.
Lea is appearing at the Boston Comic Con the weekend before DCS 2018
and her most likely appearance will be Thursday (and maybe Saturday).

Thanks to those of you who have already Event Registered for DCS 2018.
For those of you thinking of attending DCS 2018, we would recommend to
hotel register now, ASAP, so we have an accurate room night count for
DCS 2018 (also ASAP), to help finalize our VIP Guest invitation list.

As many of you know, Event Funds are the key to making many of our
VIP Guest invitations possible, by funding VIP travel, hotel rooms
and dinners. We still have several outstanding VIP Guest invitations
(to confirm) and having funds now helps us to finalize our VIP lists.

If you intend to attend DCS 2018 and have not Event Registered yet,
please make an effort to do so this weekend or in the next two weeks.
If you always wanted to attend DCS and did not attend because it was
on Father's Day weekend, you have another chance to attend this year.

Thanks again for your continued support of DeLorean Convention & Show
and we hope to see many of you (and your DeLoreans) at DCS 2018.

    Regards,
Rich W. [for the DCS 2018 Planning Team]

The cheapest transit I can find from the airport is to take the train into Naperville and then Uber to the convention center. But I'm a little nervous because my flight doesn't even get in until 9 pm on Wed. Has anybody done this before and have any better ideas?

Wait, I can actually get to the West Chicago Metra station from MDW, which is a little closer. Are cabs/ubers easy to get around that area at 11:45 on a weeknight?

The Resort has a Free Shuttle that runs during the day, to various locations,
5 miles or less from the Resort. Both the West Chicago and Geneva train
stations are each about 6 miles from the Resort, so I will try to find out if
these locations are included in the fringe coverage of the shuttle and what
the official times are that the shuttle is available.
