Hi Ken,
Yes, the majority of the attendees will be staying at the Resort. The Hotel Registration link
pre-populates the Event Code for room discounts booked prior to July 15. If you register a
room by phone, all you need to do is mention DeLorean Convention when you Hotel Register.
Valid discount rates for the convention and shoulder dates are August 13 through August 20.
http://www.deloreanconvention.org
DCS 2018 convention dates are Wednesday, August 15 through Sunday, August 19, 2018.
The DeLorean Car Show 2018 is on Saturday, 08/18/18.
Thanks,
Rich W.

Thanks,

New DMC VIP Guest - Author of Stainless Steel Illusion, John Lamm
The DCS Planning Team is very happy to announce that John Lamm will
be joining us at DCS 2018. John is still finalizing his busy schedule for
August (he says he is very happily busy), but John promises to make it
to DCS 2018 in time for "Author's Day" on Friday, August 17 and for the
DeLorean Car Show on Saturday, for Book Signings in the Mega Center.
As most DeLorean owners, fans and enthusiasts know, John Lamm is the
author of Stainless Steel Illusion, and although it is still very difficult to
find a First Edition of SSI, the DeLorean Community was lucky enough
to get the Second Edition of SSI about 15 years ago (in 2003) so many
of us could complete our collections of some early DMC publications.
Even with First and Second Editions of SSI available, there are quite
a few stories that John was not able to include in either edition, and
DCS will be your best opportunity to hear many of these stories. We
have scheduled John for at least one break-out session on Friday, and
as one of our Friday Keynote Speakers after the Friday evening dinner.

2 Months Before DCS 2018
DeLorean Owners, Fans and Enthusiasts,
As we approach both the "2 month mark" prior to the start of DCS 2018
and Father's Day weekend (a holiday associated with DCS for 18 years),
we want to remind you there are only 4 weeks left to book a discount
hotel room and the regular Event Registration rate (before late fees).
Thanks to those of you who have already Event Registered for DCS 2018.
For those of you thinking of attending DCS 2018, I would recommend to
hotel register now, ASAP, so we have an accurate room night count for
DCS 2018 (also ASAP), to help finalize our VIP Guest invitation list.
As many of you know, Event Funds are the key to making many of our
VIP Guest invitations possible, by funding VIP travel, hotel rooms
and dinners. We still have several outstanding VIP Guest invitations
(to confirm) and having funds now helps us to finalize our VIP lists.
As of today, we have 20 confirmed VIP Guests, with 4 VIP invitations
that are not confirmed, both on the DMC VIP list and BTTF VIP list.
Even if we are unable to get more VIP Guests, we have an outstanding
line-up of VIP Guests that may never appear together at another DCS.
If you intend to attend DCS 2018 and have not Event Registered yet,
please make an effort to do so this weekend or in the next few weeks.
If you always wanted to attend DCS and did not attend because it was
on Father's Day weekend, you have another chance to attend this year.
Thanks again for your continued support of DeLorean Convention & Show
and we hope to see many of you (and your DeLoreans) at DCS 2018.
Regards,
Rich W. [for the DCS 2018 Planning Team]

I am a local to the Chicago suburbs and also work all over downtown Chicago. If you are planning on doing multiple activities when coming to the Windy City, the City Pass is a good deal. Basically, you get to do five attractions out of seven choices for one price and is the most economical way to do so. Check it out:

Good Call on the City Pass. Also, there are several special evening events like Jazzin' at the Shedd (Wednesdays in Summer)
(I just went a couple weeks ago on Member's night) and Adler After Dark, that are great events and much smaller crowds.
Shedd Aquarium has artwork displayed made from recycled plastic that was recovered from garbage floating in the ocean.
Note: I will add a few photos of the Ocean Artwork in a post below.
