I found this on Instagram the car caught on fire and burned up at a rite aid parking lot.
Also the owner claims in the comments he had it sold for 70 grand ???
I think have watch some of his YouTube video before.
Sorry for the screen shots but it was the only way I knew to get the picture.
Reading the comments he says it was 81 October build. He did not carry a fire extinguishers and rite ride would not loan him or sell him one.

I'm trying to think if I ever met this guy at a club meeting. What a bummer.
(Edit: looking at his other pix, I've never met him in person but did see his youtube videos. I tried to get him to join our Utah club but afaik he never did. Whatever the real story turns out to be, it sucks that another DeLorean is out of commission...)

Cursory googling doesn't show any trace of this car having been for sale. I suppose he could have deleted the listing thinking he had a buyer or sold to someone he knew without listing it publicly, but it's odd.
Yeah, that's the fishiest part of this story. My car's on fire, I'm knocking the President out to get to an extinguisher if I have to. Of course, I carry one with me and have a passive one in the engine compartment so hopefully I won't be in that situation. Seriously, people, if you learn one thing from these forums, CARRY A FREAKING FIRE EXTINGUISHER!

Agreed. Worst case is you pay for it later. I had to buy a couple for the local Pizza Hut a few decades ago. Not a DeLorean fire . . .
