    Door window seal question

    Hey guys-

So, I recently purchased new door window seals, you know the one that goes on the bottom side of the toll booth window on the door itself. My issue is after installing them they both seem to be short. Short by a good 1/4" No matter how much I attempt to adjust the metal tabs towards the back of the car, they still seem short. Has anyone seen this before? If so, what did you do to remedy the issue? I cant imagine I would just fill the whole area with black silicone.

The vendor has agreed to take them back and send out new ones, but I don't want to uninstall them and send them back only to get new versions of the same issue. So....is this a defect seal issue or am I supposed to be doing something to get a cleaner installed look? Can someone post pictures of their car's seals so that I may compare?

    Thanks

Mine are stock and I have the same problem. I thought it might be age related but I’m not sure, they’re worn out so I need to replace them anyway.

gotta use the black weather proof glue to fill in the gaps, that's normal.

Mine also had the same gaps on the ends (don't know if original or aftermarket), but I filled it in with black caulk. I even did it the whole way around the top of the window trim, as mine would leak from there when it rained.

Used black RTV sealant a decade ago. Obviously looks like crap! Unsure why they can’t be made the proper length...

    Yep...
That's how they're supposed to be. You fill the gap with black caulk.
