    2018 Auction Prices

This is old news but I just got my June HMN and it had the results for the Barrett-Jackson Auction. They had a perfect Delorean with 624 miles so it was an original condition #1. It sold for $62,500. The calculated average selling price is $50,000 so things are moving up. Of course any car with more miles or less than #1 condition will be worth some amount less, but when the top price moves up so do all of the values of lesser cars.

I think this is a good price for an A1 car but what a lot of buyers forget is that a low-milage car could potentially mean a LOT of work and expense if the new owner wants to convert it from a minty garage queen into a safe, reliable updated driver. If you don't do the mechanical and electrical restoration work yourself the cost (parts and labor) could be anywhere between 15-30k and up and up and up and up…

You'll be at $90-$100k+ before you know it.
