5292 for sale, manual, grey interior, excellent condition
I am reluctantly putting up 5292 for sale. I love this car but it’s time to sell. It looks great and runs great. It’s an October 1981 car, manual, grooved hood, no gas flap, grey interior, tape marks on the bumpers, PRV V-6, 49,042 miles. The exterior is great with only a tiny ding on the hood (see pictures, it’s so small it’s hard to see) and the interior is super clean and in great condition as well – the only obvious flaw is a crack in the dashboard. I just had the air-conditioner charged so it’s ready for summer driving.
Work done by previous owner: Replaced the clutch, master cylinder, slave cylinder, radiator, expansion tank, alternator, shocks, all belts and hoses, tires, and did a complete brake job. The A/C has a new compressor and was converted to the current R134a refrigerant to replace to older R-12. The interior has a new leather covered binnacle and seat covers, and a new headliner.
Work I have done:
• installed 3rd tail light on top louver
• new power antenna
• new battery
• new door struts
• new Pioneer sound system - head, speakers and powered compact sub-woofer, and
mounting faceplate; the subwoofer sits on the back shelf and is super easy to remove
• new stainless steel DMC shifter knob
• Wings-A-Loft remote lock/unlock and door opening system.
Also includes:
• DMC car cover (recently purchased)
• New A-pillars – need to be installed
• Hardware for remote trunk latch release and battery cut-off switch (not installed)
• DMC Workshop Manuals
• A collection of DeLorean World magazines
• Lots of paperwork, receipts, flyers, wiring diagrams, etc.
It’s a beautiful car that turns heads everywhere I go. I can’t get gas or go out to eat without it becoming a one-car car show. This car is on the cover (and January) of the 2018 DeLorean calendar.
