Just a little something I am working on. Took a switch blank and mounted a cigarette lighter usb charging port in it. And wired it to the lighter terminals. For charging a phone.B2DC7A96-98E2-4CC6-9F57-D9A7FC9F8AFC.jpg

Awesome idea! Looks great! Always nice to have a bit of modern convenience, especially if you can do it and keep it a bit stealth like this

Thank you, I was going for a "stock" look. or as if it was done from the factory.

Very nice. I went a slightly different route and replaced my cigarette lighter with a dual 2.1 amp charger.

Thanks. I purchased it from Amazon. It’s very well built and works fantastically.

It was just a tad too wide to fit in the cigarette lighter opening but a few minutes with a dremel took care of that. The power and ground wire connectors from the car were a perfect match for the terminals on the USB charger.

I chose to make my charger “hot” at all times (just like the cigarette lighter) so I went with a non-illuminated charger to prevent battery drain. If you want the charger to be hot only when the key is in the ignition you can use the power wire going to the cigarette lighter illumination bulb instead.

I love this! Gets rid of that crappy old cig lighter and modernizes the car to charge phones. Another wonderful mod I'll be doing!

Thanks. It has held up very well and proved to be very useful. No one notices it, not even the judges at the last AACA car show (I won First Place in my category and Best Orphan Car). There’s a nice installation write up in the latest DeLorean World magazine.
