Bracket To Refit Original Craig Radio

    Hi all,

I've bought a Craig radio to refit in the car, the previous owner has widened the the gap to fit a modern radio (as shown in the photo).

I'm sure someone has solved a similar problem, any suggestions without replacing the entire mounting plate?

    Cheers,

    Max

One way would be to make a metal plate to replicate the original holes and attach it to the bracket but you would need to make a plastic trim piece to cover it all up. Another possible solution is if you can get a DIN adapter with parts to fit the Craig into it.

I bet you could get a vinyl wrap that would look close to that paint/texture. What David said about making one bending/cutting metal is the way I would go unless one came up for cheap.

    Something like this perhaps?

It may stick out a little bit more than stock but it saves you from having to pull the console

Why don't you post a trade thread on the for sale section. I'm sure there is someone who would like to have DIN sized bracket and you can trade for the shaft style bracket.
