I remember seeing images of this on Facebook a couple months ago.
I tend to agree with your assessment. I can't help but wonder if the artist recognizes the irony in "eroding" the body of the one production car that would theoretically stand up to corrosion better than any other. My guess is he's just a child of the 80s that thought it would be cool to do art with a DeLorean, regardless of stainless steel's corrosion resistive properties.

Hard to say. These photos are from the artist's instagram account. I don't see a tail pipe poking out the back so it looks as though there isn't a drivetrain. With that said, there still appears to be a frame and pretty decent body that was... modified.

I like it. Pretty interesting to see the melding of stainless and decay. Flawless straight steel panels with random destruction. I especially like the second photo where the car has a weathered wash over everything. I bet the finished piece has no real color to the tail lamps or trim.

Considering the car looks to have a Beverly Hills Car Club license plate it might not have been good for much else. I do find his thought of the car eroding that much...and the tires still holding air amusing.
