I'm ready for this part to be nice. Let me know if you have one for sale. My username on FB is the same if you want to message me there.

Mike has some really nice ones at midwest if he has any left. I have one in my car.

I don't understand the appeal of a metal gearknob:-
1) It's heavier
2) You need skin grafts on a hot day
3) It's like ice on a cold day
If you need a 44mm diameter replacement made of Delrin like the originals then $20 including delivery:-

No shift pattern but you already know where the gears are
I'm not an affiliate but I am a happy customer as I have one in my car
I actually like the metal shift knob, and am happy with it.
1. Looks great.
2. Doesn’t get hot, and has a nice feel when shifting.
3. Mine has shift pattern for those who are gear forgetful.

I have a dmoco shift knob and I agree completely. The added weight of the SS ball also improves the feel of the shifter so it isn't so light. Shifts feel a little more purposeful and obvious that you are in gear. On a similar note, BMW intentionally adds weight to their performance shift knobs on the E46 ZHP for the same effect.
My biggest gripe with the stock shift knob was that it looked and felt cheap. The noticeable seam around the middle and the ball especially was a let down for me.
