    Mystery lock on license bezel

Does anybody have any idea what this lock may have been for?

I can't find anything that it might have connected to and actuated.

Looks like an 80's alarm kill switch.

+1 I had a 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo that had an optional/PO added keyed alarm kill switch on the driver side rear quarter panel. They were all the rage back then.

Thanks Patrick/Dana. (BTW nice video Patrick.)

1890 did have an 80's alarm installed when I got it. I couldn't make it work or didn't have all the bits, but it did make the awesome chereeep-chereeep sound. I never did see anything near that keyswitch however.

I see your DeLorean is only 10 cars off from mine! Hopefully someday we can get 1880 and 1890 together for a photo.

Looks like the same thing to me.
I used to have a 1978 F-150 SuperCab with one on the left front fender in front on the door. Some PO had clipped the wires.
I even got a key for it when I bought the truck. (Like it was still going to work)...
