Question about original window stickers

Deloreans primarily came into the east coast and the west coasts. The majority of them (pretty much all of them) went through the QAC centers on the east and west coasts. The window stickers vary. Some had options, some didn't. Some had motor numbers, most don't. If you are trying to recreate your window sticker, DMCH may have some info on your VIN, they may have the original selling dealer, port of entry, that kind of thing. You can also get this kind of stuff doing a "Chain of Ownership" search of motor vehicle records in every State the car was ever Titled in. Start with the DoD for your VIN #. There was a small index card file of VINs-frame #'s for the early cars, it was not complete but DMCH may have more than that to go on. Typically the motor #'s have some reference or some part of the VIN in their # but not on Deloreans. Same goes for the transaxle and the frame. Usually there is a VIN # hidden in the body or the frame. Not on Deloreans. The VIN appears on the VIN tag on the dash and one on the jamb of the driver's door. That's it. They MUST both be the same and that VIN # should be the one on your Title and your registration. The only other "hidden" numbers were a small round sticker on the underside of the steering column with the key # (usually long gone) and it is also usually found under the headliner of the driver's door. The east coast POE was Baltimore (I think) and the QAC was in Bridgewater, NJ. The book Stainless Steel Illusion has some historical info on this too.

I already know the original dealer- it was Goldsmith Cadillac, in Jamaica, NY. (In fact, my car still has a plaque from the dealer on the rear fascia, and a sticker from the service dept in the glovebox.

I don’t want to pay DMCH $18 just to find out the port of entry.

It’s a Nov 81, 6720. Original dealer was in NYC.

So it would make sense to have gone to the east coast POE, unless something other than dealer determined that.

I stand corrected. Some engine numbers were recorded. I will have to alter my window sticker.

I have checked and the East Coast POE was the former Fiat Motors facility in Wilmington, Delaware.

Based on your VIN, I would guess it was on the Caribbean Highway or Orange Ace ship

According to my Delorean Dealer List, Goldsmith Cadillac was a legit Delorean dealer. 138-54 94th Avenue Jamaica, NY 11435. It is safe to assume the car came in the east coast POE and went through the Bridgewater QAC. The POE for the east coast WAS Wilmington, DE but on some window stickers it does say Baltimore. It is possible both ports were used.
