Removing Carpet from plastic E-brake frame?

Re-carpeting an interior. I'd like to preserve and keep the OEM carpet.

Anyone have any tips or tricks? Heat gun worked well on wood areas but isn't doing squat here and of course if i get too hot the plastic melts. I've also soaked it in boiling water with no luck.

If i pull at it, pieces of pile pull though the backing and stay stuck.

Plastic frame? The carpet piece on mine just slid off the ebrake handle.

In any case...if its plastic, boiling water will just warp it. Might try acetone (but that can eat plastic) or get the adhesive dissolver from an autoparts place..or even
see if a hobby shop has some.
