Delorean Hood with Groves Style lines no gas flap

Hi, I have a 1981 Delorean but its hood was replaced with a flat version. I'm looking to trade someone or buy a hood with the grooves, but no gas flap. Please let me know if you or someone you know may be selling one. I live in Orange County, California. Thanks!

I've got a spare grooved hood (no flap). The stainless is really lovely. It was hand-picked for me by Chris Nicholson from Rob Grady's collection and re-grained by Chris in 2016. The fiberglass side is nice, but cosmetically could do with being re-finished. There's some messy yellow glue around the carpet edges that needs cleaned up. I took it off my car about 6 months ago when I luckily managed to source a very rare brand new NOS grooved hood south of LA.

I was going to keep this hood as a backup, but I don't think it'll ever need it. I'm in the Bay Area, CA. I'm not willing to ship it, but you're more than welcome drive up to collect it. I did this when I found my NOS hood south of LA. It was one heck of a drive, but worth it.

I'll post some pics in the morning in daylight. I'd be looking for $2k.

    Thanks!

As promised, here's the photos the hood. Any questions, just shout. I'm in no rush to sell.

No worries. I’ve got someone local willing to take it.

The NOS hood south of LA was part of a retired body shop owners long term unused inventory. He was liquidating his parts collection to pay for medical treatment. I believe it was purchased in the early 80s for a job that didn’t go ahead. He liked the part so much, he kept it pristine for 35 years. I got lucky. These grooved hoods are very rare these days used, let alone NOS. G-luck with finding one closer to LA.

Good grief that is a nice looking hood. Wow. Certainly sets a nice benchmark for condition and price. And for the quality of the workmanship when one can get the stainless repair wizard in to work on your panels.

I know we all see so many "for sale" prices, mostly with entire cars, but not actually what they sold for. I would be interested in knowing what this actually sells for if you're willing to share that info (and so to is the person who ends up buying it of course). I have a hood (attached to my car!) that's just like yours, although not quite as pretty. Close, but not quite that nice.

I think I found someone willing to pick the hood up for me if you still have it?

Not exactly true as you had the chance to buy it but weren’t willing to do the drive. When a part this nice comes along you cannot wait.
