If anyone is interested, please email Michael at misiam.miller(at)gmail.comHi,
I serve on the executive board of the Arnette House located in Marion County FL (www.arnettehouse.com). On the evening of Thursday November 10th we will be hosting a 30th birthday celebration with an 80’s theme. The event is being hosted at the Country Club of Ocala. It occurred to us that it might be unique to have a Delorean at the event as the vehicle certainly was integral to that era. I believe I have seen one in the Ocala area but do not know the owner. Below is a brief summary of the history of Arnette House. I look forward to exploring this opportunity.
When Vernon and Sara Arnette’s son Gary died as a result of a drug overdose, the family turned a tragic event into a blessing for the youth of this region. Recognizing the need for a facility in our community that would come to the aid of youth in crisis, the Arnette family established Arnette House. What began as a 4-bed facility in a house on NE 8th Avenue has become a 24 bed facility on 4.8 acres, staffed 24 hours-a-day by 41 caring, dedicated employees. A natural progression from the Shelter, two Foster care group homes were opened serving 6 girls and 6 boys respectively, serving ages 13-17. The group homes provide long-term assistance in a supportive environment with 24-hour staffing. Residents develop life skills and continue their education uninterrupted as they mature into responsible and productive members of society. In addition, Arnette House provides parenting classes for local groups and organizations and non-residential counseling services to youth through the Marion and Lake County school systems.
With regards,
Michael Miller
