Can't upload multiple picutres

I'm trying to upload multiple picutres to a thread. I thought I used to be able to choose browse and then hold down control and click on multiple pictures.

What am I doing wrong?

When you're uploading pictures directly to a post in a thread, there should be a + sign to add more than one pic at a time when you are selecting them but before you click upload.

But, I typically upload the pictures to an album on my profile and then copy and paste the BB Code link on the picture into the post/thread.
